Neurogastroenterology is a gastroenterology subspecialty, which overlaps with neurology. A collection of neurons that can function independently of the
central nervous system (CNS) is the enteric nervous system. This article discusses the neurological manifestations of gastroenterological disorders, as well as significant
neurological disorder gastroenterological manifestations. The
CNS plays a part in pathogenesizing certain gastrointestinal disorders.
The management of the disorder depends on the individual. This article outlines some general approaches for the treatment of different gastrointestinal manifestations of
neurological disease. Of the specialized developmental procedures, neural stem cell transplantation is a promising therapeutic approach to enteric nervous system disorders.
